Richard Hogan of T. J. Hegarty

Richard Hogan

Qualified from National University of Ireland in 1975 with B.C.L and qualified as a Solicitor in 1977.Specialises in Personal Injury Defence Litigation. Has been dealing exclusively in litigation for the past 35 years and has established himself as a leading practitioner, representing the interests of a large number of insurance companies. |




Martin Archer of T. J. Hegarty

Martin Archer

Qualified from National University of Ireland in 1973 with B.C.L. (Hons.) and qualified as a Solicitor in 1978 when he was awarded the Allied Irish Banks’ Prize for Proficiency in Company Law. Specialises in Conveyancing and Property matters, Landlord & Tenant, Probate matters and Company and Commercial Law. Member and past Chairman of The Conveyancing Committee of the Southern Law Association and former Member of the Conveyancing Committee of the Law Society. |




Thomas J. Carroll

Thomas J. Carroll

Holds a B.C.L Degree from University College Cork and qualified as a Solicitor in 1984. Became a partner in 1988 and works extensively on Private Client matters with an emphasis on Litigation and Conveyancing. He also works as a mediator having qualified through the CEDR Program. |





Peter Kiely of T. J. Hegarty

Peter Kiely

Peter graduated from UCC in 1994 with BCL and LLB degrees. He trained in general practice in Cork before moving to the Taxation Dept. of EY, Dublin office. In 1999, he joined Timothy J. Hegarty and Son and was made a Partner in 2003. His main area of practice is Litigation, in particular Defence Litigation acting for various Irish and UK Insurers and Liability Adjusters handling professional indemnity, public and employers liability and road traffic claims. As part of his commitment to ongoing legal education he has in recent years been awarded Law Society Diplomas in both Commercial Litigation and Insolvency. |

Ken Hegarty

Being a third generation Solicitor in the firm Ken brings fresh perspective and innovation to the practice. He has established himself with a solid client base, particularly in the areas of commercial and property law and has built a notable reputation as being progressive, efficient and providing a high-quality of service and advice to his clients. Ken also has strong experience in Employment Law, acting for both Employers and Employees. |




Catherine Flemming of T. J. Hegarty

Mary Foley

Qualified from UCC with a B.C.L. Degree in 2003 and from UCD with a Masters in Commercial Law in 2006. Mary completed her traineeship with O’Rourke Reid gaining experience in Defence and Commercial Litigation and qualifying as a Solicitor in 2011. Mary joined the firm in 2011 and specialises in insurance defence work. She handles a diverse portfolio of cases in the District, Circuit and High Court. |




Mary Foley of T. J. Hegarty

Catherine Fleming

Catherine qualified as a Solicitor in 2011 having obtained both an Honours BCL Degree and MSc Masters from University College Cork. She commenced her career as a trainee Solicitor in Timothy J. Hegarty & Son where she worked exclusively in the area of litigation with a focus on handling personal injury claims including road traffic accidents and accidents at work. She has extensive specialist knowledge in the area of litigation, particularly defence litigation, product liability and professional indemnity claims. |




Michael O’Connell

Michael graduated with a BCL from NUI at UCC in 1970 and qualified as Solicitor in 1972. For over 30 years he has practiced as Litigation Partner with a leading Cork firm, M J Horgan & Sons. Michael then joined Timothy J Hegarty & Son in 2009 as a consultant. He has extensive experience in Commercial Litigation, Labour Law, Defamation, Professional Negligence, Product Liability, Accident and Insurance litigation.
